We showcased the 12 new models that are being released as par of the Black Templars Army Set, up for pre-order this Saturday. However, there are even more new Black Templars on the way.
Devout and zelous Space Marines jump right off the page of John Blanche and right onto your tabletop. Classic Black Templar heroes High Marshal Helbrecht and High Chaplain Grimaldus join the fray with new sculpts based on classic artwork. In addition, some brand new sacrosanct warriors are joining the ranks.
Up first is the Black Templars Castellan. The Castellan is a Space Marines Lieutenant, just decked out in religious iconography. He wields an awesome axe, and skeletal pauldrons.
The Sword Brethren have received some 9th edition upgrades from Games Workshop. Black Templars Sword brethren are an elite squad that specialize in different melee loadouts. Sword Brethren can wield power swords, thunder hammers, and lightning claws.
The Black Templars are as devout as a Space Marine can get. How do you show devotion in the 41st millennium? Iconography of course. Candles, bones of martyrs and chaining your weapon to yourself.
If your other Black Templars are feeling like they need to up their iconography game, pick up the new Black Templars upgrade sprue and transfers kit. This new upgrade kit can be added to regular Primaris Space Marines.
For the first time, the Relics from the new Codex Supplement: Black Templars will be included in the upgrade sprue.
These kits, along with a standalone version of the Codex Supplement: Black Templars will be available for order a few weeks after the Black Templars Army Set.
